Entries are now open for the Travel Photographer of the Year 2018 Awards. Amateur, semi-pro and professional photographers of all ages and from all countries are invited to submit their work. To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the competition, this year’s contest features a brand-new, eight-image ‘showcase’ portfolio category. Enter the Travel Photographer of the Year 2018 Awards:
This year’s TPOTY portfolio categories are ‘Travel’, ‘Faces, People, Cultures’ and ‘Natural World’. The winners of these portfolio categories each receive Fujifilm professional cameras and lenses plus membership of the RPS. And the winners of the Best Single Image award in these categories receive Giclée Fine Art exhibition prints from Genesis Imaging.
There are three single image categories, ‘Beauty of Light’, ‘Hot, Cold’ and ‘Tranquility’, a Young Travel Photographer of the Year award for ages 18 and under, and a New Talent award – ‘Festivals & Events’. Finally, for pictures taken on a smartphone or tablet, there is ‘iTravelled’.
Other prizes include cash bursaries, Norwegian voyages with Hurtigruten, jackets from Páramo, leather portfolio books or iFolios from Plastic Sandwich and Photo Iconic photo tuition.
TPOTY entry fees start at £8 and entry for Young TPOTY is free of charge. The awards are close on October 1st. The shortlisted photographers will be announced in November and the winners in December.

Photographers visiting the UK this month and who are looking for inspiration can visit the superb, free-to-view exhibition of the 140 award-winning images from Travel Photographer of the Year 2017, which is currently receiving great acclaim at London Bridge City, next to City Hall on Queen’s Walk and opposite the Tower of London, and runs to April 29th.
