Wildlife Photographer David Lloyd launches his long-anticipated first photography book As Long As There Are Animals’ alongside a supporting, similarly titled exhibition at London’s Royal Geographical Society (RGS).
‘As Long As There Are Animals’ is the culmination of seven years of photography in Kenya and the exhibition at The Royal Geographical Society features 26 beautiful wildlife photographs featured in the publication – 16 contemporary black and white images and 10 colour images – a number of which have never been seen before. A percentage of sales from the publication and also on prints sold will be donated to The Born Free Foundation, a charity dedicated to protecting threatened species and to keeping wildlife in the wild.
Virginia McKenna OBE, Founder and Trustee of the Born Free Foundation, and author of the publication’s foreword, writes: “This extraordinary collection of photographs is so precious and important. I am completely captivated by David Lloyd’s focus on detail. An eye, an ear, the texture of skin, a moment of tenderness, a sense of togetherness, a sense of loneliness. The vast blue sky with the huge and vulnerable rhinoceros spearing it with his horn, the horn that presages his downfall. The leopard in the tangled forest, an intrinsic part of an environment in which we have no real place. The elephants, whose loving and loyal family life we would do well to emulate.”
Giclée fine art prints and bespoke frames for David Lloyd’s exhibition As Long As There Are Animals’ produced by Genesis Imaging.
