About Michael Birt:

Michael Birt has worked for most major magazines in the UK and the United States: Sunday Times Magazine, The Observer, Tatler, Loaded, Q, New York Times, Time, Newsweek, The New Republic and Forbes.  Between 1999 – 2001 he was contracted to Tina Brown’s magazine Talk working in New York and Los Angeles. He is currently working in theatre and TV advertising. His production images include  Keira Knightley in The Children’s Hour, The Old Vic’s, Electra and Sonia Friedman’s, The Sunshine Boys with Danny DeVitto.

Selected for Twenty Today, at the National Portrait Gallery, an exhibition of Britain’s ‘Top 20 young portrait photographers,’ in 1986. Michael has exhibited worldwide and has been selected for the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize five times. He was also the Gold Medal winner of the Royal Photographic Society’s International Print Exhibition in 2009.
