Wendy Carrig: 'Washed Up' at JAM on the Marsh 2023

We recently produced Direct to Media UV prints on Innotech fabric for photographer Wendy Carrig’s exhibition, Washed Up, as part of JAM on the Marsh Festival 2023.

The exhibition brings attention to a significant topic of our time and provides an example of human impact on nature.

Carrig’s beautiful but alarming photographs show items found and left on the beaches from Dungeness to Dymchurch. The exhibition is a powerful comment on our culture of waste, drawing the observer in with its beautiful compilation of discarded objects, ranging from plastic lighters to bottles and cartridges. At the same time, the photos confront and challenge the viewer, promoting reflection of and discussion about the status quo.

Genesis helped to source a fabric to print on that would be light enough to hang and, more importantly, one made from recycled Ocean Plastics. This respected the exhibition’s environmental message of highlighting the Ocean Plastics crisis and demonstrating how materials can be reused and play a part in a circular economy.
