We are thrilled to be supporting YEARBOOK, an initiative by Shutterhub to support photographers in the industry, following the highly successful first edition in 2020. YEARBOOK 2021 will be a group exhibition online, promoted to people working within the photography industry, with the chance to be selected for a printed publication going out to industry specialists and agencies and a series of YEARBOOK Awards.

Shutter Hub are asking for entries from anyone who would like a bit of a promotional boost, no matter your background or education. There’s no theme, but they’d encourage you to think of it like a graduate show – an opportunity to promote your best work. Keep in mind that due to the scale of this project they won’t be able to include full series of images from all entrants, but there will be a link from your name to your website or social media (you’ll decide), so viewers will be able to link through to see more of your work.

All valid entries will have at least one image included per person, on the ShutterHub website, which reaches over 20,000 people per month alongside promotion through the newsletter. We will of course share to our networks too!

100 images will be selected to be included in a printed publication that will be sent out to industry specialists and agencies and available to buy via the ShutterHub website.

Deadline 22nd July 2021

The Genesis Imaging Award

One photographer will be selected by Gabrielle Brooks from Genesis Imaging to receive a £1,000 bursary to use with Genesis Imaging, redeemable against print and/or finishing services, plus a mentorship with Genesis Imaging’s Mark Foxwell.

About Mark Foxwell:

Mark is the Creative Director of Genesis Imaging. He has worked closely with both renowned and emerging photographers and artists throughout his 40+ year career. His prints have graced the walls of some of the top museums and galleries in the world, including MOMA and Tate Modern. He has been a guest lecturer at several London Universities and a portfolio reviewer for numerous platforms.

His current aim and hope is to give back as much as he has gained from his passion.

About Gabrielle Brooks:

Gabrielle enjoys supporting work by both renowned and emerging photographers and artists through her role at Genesis Imaging, as Marketing Manager, a role which she has held since 2013. She is also an artist working with photography, video, and sculpture. Alongside her role at Genesis, Gabrielle is an Hourly Paid Lecturer (HPL) at Nottingham Trent University which enables her to support the development of future practitioners.

She aims to champion innovative works by those less represented within the Creative Industries.
