Genesis are delighted to support Photo50 at London Art Fair,  a guest-curated exhibition of contemporary photography featuring fifty works. The exhibition (titled ‘Feminine Masculine’) will be located within London Art Fair, and provides a critical showcase of some of the most interesting and distinctive elements of current photographic practice. This edition of the fair welcomes Federica Chiocchetti – Director of The Photocaptionist – as curator of Photo50.

Feminine Masculine is loosely inspired by Jean-Luc Godard’s 1966 masterpiece Masculin Féminin and aims to explore the challenge of representing the mysterious, at times ineffable and immaterial, dynamics that occur or do not occur between a woman and a man.

Presented with a feminine narrative voice, it features the work of primarily, yet not exclusively, contemporary female artists that subtly play with the theme. Without the intention of offering any definitive answer, the idea is to show a suggestive and allusive visual journey into the struggle and fascination of dealing with the other sex, mixing satire, sadness, romanticism and exploring emotional clichés.
