We recently caught up with photographer and one of Genesis Imaging's Format Festival Bursary winner's, Jan McCullough, to find out about her fascinating series 'Home Instruction Manual'; a series constructed from internet forum user's advice on 'how to make a house a home', which questions our very identity.
'Home Instruction Manual' was recently awarded first prize in the Fotobookfestival Kassel Dummy Award 2015, shown at Belfast Exposed; Northern Ireland's principal gallery of contemporary photography and will feature at Unseen photography fair in Amsterdam. Her book, of the same title, is due out next year.
The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize shortlist has been announced for 2015, with the four shortlisted photographers revealed as Peter Zelewski, Anoush Abrar, Ivor Prickett and Genesis client David Stewart, chosen from a total of 4,929 submissions from 2,201 photographers in 70 countries. The photographic prizes, including a first place prize of £12,000, will be announced on November 10, 2015.
