Gavin Mitchell’s latest eclectic collection of limited edition images and unique photographs are brought together in his latest solo exhibition, combining inspiration from original 20th century Japanese hand tinted postcards, photographic plates and silver gelatin prints.
His latest body of work aims to playfully disrupt and challenge the outwardly reverential and tranquil quality of Japanese life by incorporating abstract references to the more irreverent and uncensored nature of Western popularist culture.
