‘This selection of work falls into the category of informal, reportage portraiture but features people involved in very physical activities. As a photographer and an observer of movement I am interested in what happens to their bodies as they perform in isolation and away from any arena or practice hall. I take them to a plain background and ask them to perform for the camera. This appears to give the sense of a staged shot as in a fashion or advertising campaign but this is not the case. There is an actor in all of us, and this request often allows my subjects to perform at their best, exact and concentrated within their routine. My professional work is with private and corporate clients producing large scale, framed images for home and workplace walls, some themed to their businesses, others for the pleasure that photographic images bring to an interior.’
