We were thrilled to have produced Direct to Media UV Prints on Dibond for Sue Barr’s exhibition, Monsters: Fragments of Stuttgart Brutalism, which is on show at Städtischen Lapidarium in Stuttgart, Germany, until October 2, 2022.
The exhibition consists of photographs commissioned by the Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart under the direction of Prof. Marianne Mueller and AM Constantin Hörburger, showing a selection of lesser-known buildings from the 1960s and 1970s in the greater Stuttgart area. They document residential complexes, administrative buildings, churches and community centres fifty years after creation.
Barr’s photographs combine documentary, aesthetic and abstract elements and open a new perspective on the often-controversial buildings. The exhibition’s title addresses this conflicted understanding and starkly contrasts to Barr’s rich and poetic images.
