Genesis are delighted to be supporting Xposure International Photography Festival – a new 4-day International photography festival, powered by Sharjah Media Center in UAE, which aims to create a common interactive platform for photographers from all across the globe.

About Xposure:

The Xposure International Photography Festival brings together Middle East’s largest gathering of photography professionals and photographic trade suppliers.

Xposure spans over 9000 sq.m. area showcasing world class exhibitions, trade shows, workshops, activities, exhibits, screenings, competitions, group discussions and more. With a strong International flavour and retailer presence, Xposure is slated to be a one-of-its-kind, premier photography show in the Middle East.

The term Xposure’ is derived from the photography term exposure (The amount of light per unit area of a photographic film/image sensor). The word exposure’ also suggests the act of experiencing something and gathering public attention.

We are proud to be supporting Xposure through the production of David Yarrow and Levon Biss’ work, which is featured in the photography festival.

About David Yarrow:

Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1966, David is currently based in London. He began his photographic career recording the world’s greatest sporting events.

He was named Young Scottish Photographer of the Year at the age of 20 and in the same year covered the World Cup in Mexico for The Times. His photo of Maradona holding the trophy aloft was internationally syndicated and remains an iconic image of that tournament.

David has recently signed a global book deal with Rizzoli publishing house in New York, to produce a flagship book named Wild Encounters’ which features work from seven continents, capturing some of the earths most endangered species. HRH the Duke of Cambridge has written the foreword to the book which will be released in October this year and all author royalties from the book will go to Tusk Trust.

Alongside Rizzoli, David will launch the book in a series of events across the world – including exhibitions at Fotografiska in Stockholm, La Photographie Galerie in Brussels, Holden Luntz in Palm Beach and at London’s Somerset House. Yarrow’s work at Xposure will be finished using our Classic Gallery Framing service.

About Levon Biss:

Levon Biss is a British photographer born in London. He began shooting with his father’s camera as a teenager and went professional at the age of 22. Since then, his work has covered a wide breath of photographic genres, from portrait to documentary and sport. In the last 2 years he has turned his attention to macro – resulting in the series ‘Microsculpture’;  a presentation of the insect collection of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History like never before. The result of a collaboration between the Museum and photographer Levon Biss, this series of beautifully-lit, high magnification portraits captures the microscopic form of insects in striking large-format and high-resolution detail produced as Direct to Media UV Prints.
