Perspex Face Mounting

Perspex (Acrylic) Face Mounting, also known as Reverse Face Mounting, is a photographic print between a sheet of Perspex and an Aluminium or Dibond backing sheet.

An optically clear silicone adhesive is used to create an airtight bond with no air bubbles between print, Dibond and Perspex. After this, we cut Face Mounts using our precision cutter; our unique service means that we can produce face mounts in virtually any shape that you desire up to 2997 x 1828mm (118 x 72 inches).

Each completed piece is supplied with an aluminium sub-frame – making it easy to hang and providing additional rigidity and support against warping.

Perspex Face Mounting is a contemporary mounting solution that enhances the colour of your work and provides a flawless high-gloss finish. Perspex Face Mounting is a popular choice for those looking to present a finished piece without a frame. Because the print sits between the Perspex and the back using a permanently elastic 100% clear silicone glue, perspex face mounting provides the additional benefit of no light reflections between the photographs and the glazing of an ordinary frame.

The aluminium subframe on the back of each perspex face mount provides a visible space between the mounted work and the wall – lending another presence to your photographs or artwork.

Glass Face Mounting

Glass Face Mounting is the process of mounting a photographic print between a sheet of toughened glass and an aluminium or Dibond backing sheet.

Using optically clear silicone adhesive, an airtight bond with no air bubbles is created by bonding prints to the glass. The glass that we use is durable and highly resilient against scratching.

We can produce glass face mounts in any size up to 72 x 48 inches (1828 x 1219mm).

An Aluminium sub-frame completes each piece – making it easy to hang and providing additional rigidity and support against warping.

Glass face mounting offers an exceptionally crisp, contemporary finish. It is a popular high-quality alternative to our Perspex face mounting. Glass face mounting provides the additional benefit of no light reflections. The print is sandwiched between the glass and the back using a permanently elastic 100% clear silicone glue.

The aluminium subframe on each glass face mount’s back provides a visible space between the mounted work and the wall – lending another presence to your photographs or artwork.

Aluminium Mounting

Aluminium mounting is a popular choice for photographers or artists to give their work a sleek, contemporary finish. Photographic prints are mounted to a 2mm thick aluminium sheet, precision-cut to the exact size of your print before the edges are polished. Although mounting on aluminium is perfect for achieving a contemporary frameless finish, we can also finish aluminium mounted prints with your choice of bespoke frame – giving you an outstanding image with superior rigidity and protection. We can produce Aluminium mounts in sizes up to 2997 x 1219mm (118 x 48 inches).

Aluminium mounting gives photographic prints a sleek, contemporary feel. The material is exceptionally rigid, flat and hard-wearing and offers prints a discreet, polished silhouette. Mounting prints to aluminium is especially popular with those who want a simple, frameless finish. An Aluminium is added to each completed piece – making it easy to hang and providing additional rigidity and support against warping. This sub-frame also provides a visible space between the mounted work and the wall, giving your photographs or artwork a 3-dimensional ‘floating’ presence.

Dibond Mounting

Dibond, an aluminium composite, comprises two ultra-thin 0.3mm aluminium panels sandwiched around a polyethylene core. Dibond is lightweight, rigid and will not delaminate or warp due to the material’s low thermal expansion – making it a perfect permanent mounting solution for photographs or artwork.

We can produce Dibond mounts in sizes up to 2997 x 1828mm (118 x 72 inches).

Each completed Dibond mount is supplied with an Aluminium sub-frame for a frameless finish, making it easy to hang and providing additional rigidity and support against warping.

Dibond provides a rigid yet optically flat panel, making it a perfect photographic mounting material. Mounting on Dibond gives you all the advantages of aluminium but with a significant weight saving – making it ideal for mounting larger photographic prints without bowing.

The aluminium subframe mounted to each finished Dibond mount provides a visible space between the mounted work and the wall, giving your photographs or artwork a three dimensional ‘floating’ presence.

Foamex

Foamex is a lightweight board with a polyurethane foam core, known for its lightweight and semi-rigidity. Foamex is often used to mount work for Box (spacer) framestray frames or as a mounting solution for artwork that is to be hung directly on the wall.

Foamex is exceptionally lightweight, and Foamex mounting is ideal for short-term applications, including touring exhibitions and those wanting to achieve excellent dimensional stability on a budget.

We can offer Foamex mounts in 2mm, 3mm or 5mm thicknesses and up to a maximum size of 2 997 x 1828mm (118 x 72 inches).

Kapa Foamboard

Foamboard mounting is a lightweight, rigid mounting solution, perfect for ensuring your prints are flat within the frame or to use alone to mount prints directly onto the wall for more temporary displays.

Kapa Foamboard comprises an inner rigid foam polyurethane core clad with a reinforced aluminium layer (adding protection for photographic images) and outer card covers.

We can offer Foamboard mounts in both 5mm and 10mm thicknesses and up to a maximum size of 118 x 60 inches. (2997 x 1524mm).

MDF Mounting

MDF mounting creates a substantial, three-dimensional feel for photographic prints. We can offer MDF mounts in 12mm or 18mm thicknesses, with the option of natural, painted black or white edges, and in sizes up to 96 x 48 inches (2438 x 1219 mm).

Our MDF mounts are supplied with split-battens or keyholes, providing a stable and secure hanging system for your work.

Block mounting your photographic prints on MDF creates a solid, durable platform ideal for long term display. MDF is relatively lightweight yet provides a 3d quality for photographs or artwork; MDF mounting offers a relatively cost-effective and long term mounting solution.
