As part of our commitment to the next generation of image-makers, we are proud to support The University of West London’s graduate show ‘Optic’ at Freerange Art and Design Show, during week 2 of the Photography graduate showcase with our Student Photography Services. ‘Optic’ is the culmination of an intense period of study in which students have transformed their way of seeing the world around them. The work produced by 19 artists explores ideas including identity, memory, place, evidence and style.
About The University of West London:
The University of West London offer dynamic and exciting undergraduate photography courses which equip students with strong practical, theoretical and professional skills. Through cultural and theoretical studies students gain the confidence to critically evaluate and effectively engage in contemporary photographic debates.
‘Our academics and technical staff provide a supportive learning environment that nurtures our students’ photographic interests and ambitions. A strong team of established professional photographers, artists, curators and guest lecturers bring a wealth of experience to the photography department. Students are also expected to engage with many extra-curricular activities including study and field trips abroad, exhibitions, community projects and gallery visits to art centres. The close proximity to London’s museums also provides a wonderful resource to inspire photographic projects and stimulate debate. The department has great relationships with professional bodies like the BIPP, APHE and the AOP. Students also benefit from links with Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad, Adobe and Apple amongst others.’
