As the 2014 laureate of the BMW residency at The musée Nicéphore Niépce, Natasha Caruana dedicated the residency that she was awarded to a project focusing on the search for the truth of ‘love at first sight’.
Caruana married three days before she started her residency, having experienced love at first sight herself. Inspired by this personal experience and the work of neuroscientists, anthropologists and popular myths, she uses photography as her tool to uncover the truth of this hidden alchemy.
Direct to Media prints on concrete for the exhibition have been produced using our Direct to Media UV Printing service.
The BMW Residency at the Musée Nicéphore Niépce
The BMW residency is a joint initiative between BMW Art & Culture and the Musée Nicéphore Niépce to support contemporary photography and make it accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Each photographer selected is given the chance to work on a personal project for a period of time, under the guidance of François Cheval, Chief Curator at the musée Nicéphore Niépce, with assistance from the team in the museum’s laboratory.
