As another year draws to a close, we’ve been reflecting on some of our particular highlights for 2019… (in no particular order!):
1. Genesis support Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2019
Insight Investment Astronomy Photographer of the Year returned in 2019 with a brand new exhibition showcasing the world’s greatest space photography. The exhibition was a result of the largest astrophotography competition of its kind, showcasing the best space photography from around the world. Read more…
2. FUJIFILM’s Hero of the Lab – Steve Butler
Every professional print lab has its own hero, this hero ensures the highest possible quality to be delivered to the customer. They are photo enthusiasts and experts in their field. We were thrilled to have our very own Steve Butler featured in The Fujifilm Original Photo Paper ‘Hero of the Lab’ series in 2019. Read more…
3. AOP Awards 2019 Exhibition at Canary Wharf
Genesis were delighted to support this year’s AOP Awards exhibition by producing all the exhibited works with our extensive Giclée Fine Art Printing Service.
This year’s AOP Awards exhibition marked their 35th anniversary. Just over 240 finalists’ images went on display at Canary Wharf. The selection was taken from the Photography Awards for Association Of Photographer’s members, the Open Awards aimed at non-members, to encourage non-professional photographers and the Student Awards open to those who were studying photography in 2018. 4. London Art Fair
Ok… So we know that this one’s technically not until next year… But London Art Fair is one of our highlights every year and we couldn’t miss this opportunity to mention the next edition will be taking place from 22-26 January 2020. Genesis are delighted to once again support the fair, which is in its 14th edition, and we’re thrilled to be producing work for Photo50; an annual exhibition of contemporary photography which provides a critical forum for examining some of the most distinctive elements of current photographic practice. 5. David Yarrow: ‘Pride Rock’ at Maddox Gallery
For more than two decades, legendary British photographer David Yarrow has been putting himself in harm’s way to capture immersive photography of the world’s most revered and endangered species. Carefully curated for the first time, Pride Rock offered a compelling retrospective of Yarrow’s spectacular work in the wild, as well as his elaborate storytelling portraiture. Read more…

7. Wildlife Photographers United: ‘Remembering Lions’ at La Galleria
Remembering Wildlife is the collective name for the series of books created by British wildlife photographer Margot Raggett, who was prompted to take action after seeing a poached elephant in Northern Kenya in 2014.
Genesis were delighted to support the exhibition accompanying the launch of the fourth book in the series ‘Remembering Lions’ at La Galleria in October with Giclée Fine Art Prints.
8. Genesis support Wildlife Photographer of the Year touring exhibition
Genesis are proud to support the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year with beautiful Duratrans prints for the internationally touring exhibition. Now in its 55th year the renowned award serves to showcase the best of the year in wildlife photography in an exhibition of 100 images. Read more…
9. Hassan Hajjaj: Maison Macrocaine de la Photographie
In 2019, Hassan Hajjaj transformed the Maison Européenne de la Photographie into the Maison Marocaine de la Photographie. This major exhibition, reflecting a 30-year career, featured all of Hajjaj’s most important photographic series as well as video works, sculptural installations and furniture. The exhibition presented an opportunity for Hajjaj to transform all of the spaces within the museum.
The exhibition was produced in collaboration with Fotografiska, and we are proud to have produced Hassan’s works, as Lambda C-type prints for the exhibition. Read more…
10. Ava raises £6,000 for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home
Ava is a 12 year old photographer whose portraits of cats and dogs recently raised over £6000 in proceedings for the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Quite a feat! Ava is the daughter of our talented Client and friend Zoë Law.
The exhibition took place at the Philip Mould gallery in Pall Mall in November. Check out more images on our Instagram page.
11. Zoë Law and Maggie’s: ‘LIFE’ at The Lowry
‘Life’ debuted at Christie’s London in 2017, to celebrate Maggie’s 21st birthday, and has since toured nationally. In 2019 the LIFE exhibition was on tour to raise awareness of the support needed for people with cancer and their friends and family, as well as to show the importance of Maggie’s, through a moving and enlightening collection of images. 12. The Genesis Imaging Postgraduate Award 2019: Winner and Commend Entries Announced!
The Genesis Postgraduate Award returned in 2019 to offer support to individuals continuing to postgraduate level. In a change to the inaugural award which required university lecturers to submit students for entry, this years award was open to all universities in England and for students to self-submit for our production grant. Ignacio Barrios was awarded the 2019 grant. Read more…

15. AOI: World Illustration Awards 2019
Each year the The Association of Illustrators, the professional body for illustration in the UK, present The World Illustration Awards which for the second year we are proud to have supported with our Bespoke Wallpaper Printing service.
Now in its 43rd year, the annual competition showcased up-and-coming as well as established illustrators from around the world. Highlighting the latest developments in the discipline. Read more…

18. Travel Photographer of the Year – London Exhibition
Travel Photographer of the Year was back at London Bridge City in February 2019 showcasing the 2018 winning images. Following on from the huge success of the previous years’ debut exhibition at the venue, all images were again on show outdoors, against the stunning backdrop of City Hall, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.
